Not the blogging part specifically 😂 but the stepping out part. The part where you stop consuming quietly and finally decide to contribute. The part where you risk sounding like you don’t know everything 😭. The part where you hit “publish” and let people see where you actually are.

So if you're reading this, welcome to what I hope becomes a space where I share my tech journey. The wins, the confusion, the "why is this not working" moments, and everything in between. And to make sure I completely and fully commit to this 😂, I'm keeping myself motivated by creating both the thumbnail and cover photos from scratch for every blog (I hope y'all like the ones for this article 😝). Not to brag, but I AM a Canva expert 💅🏽

Today, I attended a blog writing masterclass at the office. I had the honour of hearing from Nelly, Xiaomao, who has an impressive grasp of blogging. I read one of her blogs about a hacking challenge that kind of takes you into her brain and into how she was feeling in that exact moment, with the panic, the joy, and all the emotion that came with the entire experience.

She didn't talk about blogging like it was a performance. She talked about it like a conversation. A conversation where your job isn't to sound impressive, but to genuinely connect with the person reading on the other side.

And sitting there, I realised that I've been waiting to feel like an expert before I could write. But that's not what blogging is about.

Thinking about my own personal tech journey, my choices and attitudes towards certain technologies, opportunities, and even learning paths, would have been completely different if I had a raw and vulnerable reference to look up to and think*,* "Okay, it's not just me."

A lot of people say that there tends to be a lot of gatekeeping in the tech community 😂, and I believe this comes from the lack of sharing of authentic stories that not only highlight the highs, but also the lows of being a techie (cause we all know this life we chose isn't always the easiest 😭).

So what am I trying to get at here?

Honestly? I'm figuring that out too.

I want to document my tech journey. Not just highlighting the LinkedInesque version 😂 but the real one. The one where I set a goal to finish a certain certification and didn't. The one where something finally makes sense after weeks of confusion. The one that someone somewhere might read and see a bit of themselves in me.

If even one person relates to something I write here, that's enough.
